Hello

Welcome to our family journey. We are Isabella and Isaac, proud parents to two little boys and joyfully awaiting our third child.

As Christians, we are passionate about exploring the connection between theology and modern life, standing firm in our faith in a world that often challenges our beliefs. We give thanks for the richness of our wider Christian family, including loved ones from Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Methodist, Anglican, and Pentecostal backgrounds, as we seek to raise our children to be salt and light in the world. We hope to teach them to love others well, while also understanding the importance of sin, repentance and God's grace.

Our Story So Far

We first met when we moved to Cardiff for university almost 10 years ago. We both arrived in Cardiff already knowing that we wanted to follow Jesus as Christians, and when we met each other, we very quickly realised we wanted to be together.

We met in the first week of university, started dating within a month, got engaged within six months of dating, and were married after three years together. Now we have been married for almost six years and have two wonderful sons, with a third child on the way.

Through all of this, our love for one another has grown, but it has not always been easy. Having started our relationship as Christians, we quickly realised that we were not living for Christ as fully as we had thought. We have had to confront our sinful natures and recognise the ways we were often living more for the world than for His Kingdom.

We also discovered that, although we both love Jesus and profess Christian faith, theological differences can sometimes create challenges — from decisions about which church to attend, to whether to baptise or dedicate our children. Yet these challenges have ultimately led us into a deeper love for one another, and most importantly, a deeper love for God.

This site exists as a space to share our thoughts and wrestlings around what it means to live counter-culturally in Jesus’ upside-down Kingdom through marriage and parenthood. We are currently rooted in an evangelical Anglican church in South Wales, and we share here in the hope of encouraging others, while also learning from those who have gone before us or who are navigating their own journeys of marriage and family life.

We are simply pilgrims on the way to eternity with Jesus, seeking to bring our children with us and to guide them in learning how to live life more faithfully than we often manage ourselves.

Although we are currently part of a Church in Wales congregation, we will also write about our struggles with a lack of clear biblical authority at times, especially regarding sexuality, marriage, and how to navigate these topics as a family. We will also explore a range of theological themes and ways of living, learning from saints and martyrs across 2,000 years of church history, from different traditions around the world.

We hope this space serves as a place of honesty, reflection, and encouragement for others walking a similar path.
